What is Clomifene citrate?
Clomifene, also known as clomiphene, is a medicine used to treat infertility in women who do not ovulate, including women with polycystic ovary syndrome. The chance of using result twins is greater.
In 1967, Clomid was approved for medical use in the United States. It is in the list of essential medicines of the World Health Organization and belongs to the category of “ovulation stimulators” (supplementary list). Its introduction opened the era of assisted reproductive technology.
It has also been found that Clomid (especially the purified isomer of Enclomid) has a powerful ability to increase or restore testosterone levels in hypogonadal men.
Medical use
Clomid is used to induce ovulation (egg production) in women who do not produce eggs (eggs) but wish to become pregnant (infertility). Clomid belongs to a class of drugs called ovulation stimulants. Its action is similar to estrogen, which is a type of female hormone that causes eggs to develop and be released in the ovaries.
Side effects
